Aquarius, Aquarius!, Astrology Highlights for January 20-26, 2020

Happy Birthday Aquarius 

As we enter this week the Sun moves into the zodiac sign of Aquarius! The Sun brings it radiance, proactive, and positive energy to give the Aquarius house in your natal chart some momentum. Aquarius is an Air sign, not water, and ruled by the planet Uranus. Aquarians are intellectual, assertive, independent, analytical, and inventive. They are friendly humanitarians and love to be around people that share their way of thinking for the highest good of the collective. They are "big picture" thinkers. All these characteristics may be tapped with the energy in your chart. Your intellectual and humanitarian side may be stimulated, you may be required to be creative when solving situations over the next few weeks.

The tarot card, Magician, was our intuitive pull to represent this particular astrological aspect. The Magician is the alchemist, the inventor and knows how to create gold out of combining all the elements. He and Aquarius are here to help you make your dreams come to reality. The Magician may also help us create a better world for all of us.








On Tuesday, January 22, 2020, the Sun squares Uranus (in Taurus). Remember that a square aspect is meant to make us uncomfortable enough to take action -- in other words to change something. There might be sudden changes in the environment (relationships, career, or money) that force you out of your comfort zone. Uranus is really trying to help you break free from whatever is holding you back. Try to be grounded, open-minded and flexible.

The card pulled for this aspect was the Three of Pentacles. The feeling I get from this card is the independent nature of Uranus, that the artist will create art for themselves and not be swayed by the "experts" that might criticize or try to influence him. This guy is listening to his own rhythm that is unique for him.


On Friday, January 24, a New Moon in Aquarius means a new energy being birthed. An opportunity for your dreams to become reality. Aquarius promotes that progressive thinking and seeks to bring the new innovations in technology and society. A very interesting tarot card came out to give us more insight into the new moon -- the Lovers card. Besides its obvious meaning (new relationships in bloom), I feel drawn to the idea that this could be about commitment in relationships, commitment to a cause, commitment to a value system. At this new moon you may join others in committing to a common goal.

Truth & Compassion, Astrology Highlights, January 13-19, 2020

Hello Friends,

How did you handle last week's big energy shifts? I was really mindful and took the time to observe, especially at my job, before speaking or acting on something. I was pleasantly surprised how well some meetings went.

We are still working under the effects of both the full moon lunar eclipse and the Saturn/Pluto conjunction. The energies of the first will last 6 months and the energies of Saturn & Pluto being on the same degree point lasts until Tuesday, January 14. They will remain conjunct (two planets within 10 degrees of each other) for the next year, but they will now begin to separate. So their effect on the transformation of governments, businesses, and institutional systems will continue.

On January 13, the week starts off with the Sun (in Capricorn) in a position of conjunction with both Saturn and Pluto. The Sun brings a lot of light to this conjunction and may reveal issues for you around power and authority. Are you feeling empowered or helpless? Also be on the alert for physical ailments.

The energy of the Sun can also act as a source of motivation. You see what systems or routines in your life that need to be transformed. The Sun supports your ambition to move what you learn forward and take action.

The tarot card that came out for this aspect was the Ace of Swords. This feels like to me the sword of power and truth.Whatever is revealed to you during the Saturn Pluto conjunction, which is lasting months and months, will be the truth that you need to follow. The sword cuts away the mystery, the mask, the fake surface stuff and gets to the deeper issues. A sword is also a symbol of power and the Saturn/Pluto conjunction is, at its essence, a power struggle.



The other aspect to kick off our Monday, is Venus moving into Pisces. It will be there until Feb 7. Venus is the divine feminine power ruling love, money, compassion, and passion. Pisces, a water sign, is about spiritual and unconditional love. This is an opportunity to look at people around you with compassion and kindness. You may see their wounds or their flaws, but it just doesn't matter. You will have empathy. A lot of feelings will be flowing in a positive and creative way.

It is fascinating to me that the Wheel of Fortune came out of the deck to give us insight to Venus moving into the zodiac sign of Pisces. I feel like it means that we (Society) need to make a shift from meanness and indifference to compassion and kindness. Even if a few of us start, maybe it will spread. Does this turning wheel mean that is happening? I hope so.


On Thursday, January 16, Mercury also changes signs and moves into Aquarius. He will be there until Feb. 3. Mercury, the planet of information, communication, and intellectual pursuits is very comfortable in Aquarius, an air sign that is independent and analytical. Aquarians can tend to be idealistic humanitarians looking to solve the global issues humans face.

This aspect could mean that you experience a lot of noise in your head. Lots of ideas could overwhelm you, so it would be a good idea to calm your mind by writing them down. Channel the ideas in a constructive way. This could also mean that you receive downloads while you sleep -- solutions, poetry, song lyrics, and mathematical equations.

A good idea may lead to an opportunity. So pay attention to your downloads. The Knight of Pentacles is the most diligent and methodical knight in the tarot. He is also the slowest. But he represents action taken that may produce money and security. This could also be connected to the humanitarian in Aquarius. Does the Knight take action and raise funds to help a good cause?

The last aspect of the week that I will list is that Mercury squares (or challenges) Uranus late Friday into Saturday (January 17-18). Mercury the messenger challenges Uranus the ruler of freedom, rebellion and revolution. With Uranus, expect the unexpected. In this squaring, you might receive a message or information out of the blue. It may also mean that you encounter people who have no filter (good or bad). I would be on the alert for reactionary communication. It would be a good time to ground yourself so that you don't fly off the handle either.

The Nine of Pentacles represents the wealthy privileged lady who has everything and is secure. Sometimes the card is referred to as the "Garden of Eden." My eye was drawn to the feminine symbol on her belt. It makes me wonder if the challenge between Mercury and Uranus triggers bad financial information, or is something to do with women. Maybe it is news delivered by a powerful woman? Hmmm.

We will have to see how this week plays out.

Big Week, Astrology highlights for the week of January 6-12, 2020

Hello Folks,
We have some major astrological aspects this week to discuss. We have great potential to harness the
energies for the changes we need to make in our lives and community. There will be global happenings, heck, unless you live in a cave you already know about those happenings. Because of the immensity of these aspects, I'm adding something new to these forecasts -- pulling a tarot card for an intuitive look at the aspect from another perspective.  Please give me feedback. Do you like that or not? Would your rather I just do an astrological summary and pull the cards the day of the aspect and post to the blog? The major aspect this week falls on January 10 -- the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 20 degrees in the zodiac sign of Cancer. 

The first thing to expect is that the eclipse will increase the energy and influences of the Full Moon. It is steroids to the moon. The effects will last much long -- 6 months -- so that you have plenty of time to make the changes it wants you to make.

The full moon is about completion, adjustment, or letting something go. The eclipse means changes too. The other interesting thing I noticed is that the Full Moon falls on January 10 in the United States. The number ten closure or completion.

The Hermit from the Pre-Raphealite Tarot Deck

This astrological aspect is taking place in Cancer. Cancer is all about home, feelings of security, the mother, the emotional center, and nurturing. Expect heightened emotions and heightened energies around our subconscious. My intuition is telling me that the purpose of this full moon lunar eclipse is to help us see where we need to stop doing the things that don't nurture us and to be more conscious of self-care and nurturing our gifts. Where in your life do you need nurturing? What needs to be nurtured in you?

The card pulled for the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse was the Hermit. The Hermit seeks spiritual wisdom. He seeks to know all about himself. His light shines into the darkness of his soul searching for answers within. The water and the moon in the card symbolize Cancer -- the mystery of the emotional depths within us. The Hermit is connected to Great Spirit, see the golden light coming from the heavens and Hermit serves as a conduit for that energy to go into the earth (note his bare feet). Grounds yourself this week.

Eight of Pentacles

Another major aspect this week falls on January 11 -- Uranus (in Taurus) goes direct. Uranus went into retrograde on August 12, 2019 and offered us a time to see what needs to be changed in our physical world including the structures and routines of our lives. Uranus is the planet of revolution, opportunities, surprises, and freedom. It is about power and control.It is the planet that represents science, invention, electricity, and humanitarian movements. It also governs lightening and one should always expect the unexpected strike of Uranus's energy. When Uranus goes direct in Taurus on Saturday, it is time to take action on transforming the things in and around your life that you need to change. It may be your job, your residence, or anything that you feed is a burden. Uranus wants free you from the clutter (in the mind, body, and spirit). If you don't make the adjustments in your life, then Uranus may create upheaval that will force you to make them.

At right is the card I pulled for more insight on Uranus going direct. The eight of Pentacles signals hard work and diligence that leads to prosperity, but it can also mean doing the same thing over and over in monotony. Uranus wants you to innovate and when it goes direct it may give you the opportunity to shake things up in order to try a new way to prosperity.

Last but certainly not least is the conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. They are already conjunct, with less than 10 degrees of separation, but on January 12, they will be exactly conjunct on the same degree in Capricorn (22 degrees). In addition the Sun will be conjunct with them on 22 degrees and Mercury will be at 23 degrees!  Many other astrologers have done more in-depth analyses of the powerful effect this aspect will have on the global level.

Saturn is the taskmaster, wants you to master your skills and go up a level of maturity. Saturn is about responsibility, patriarchy, governments, restriction and structures (institutions & corporations). Pluto wants to dismantle structures and transform systems. Pluto is about immense subconscious power, the power to destroy and create at the same time. Pluto rules volcanoes and earthquakes -- both of which destroy the area around them when they explode or break apart the earth, but they also create a entirely new landscape.

You have already seen and felt the power of this conjunction thus far with chaos in the global community -- protests in Hong Kong, Brexit troubles in the UK, the divisiveness in the U.S., and much more going on elsewhere. We see lots of systemic corruption that needs to be fixed. It will only increase in the short term.

There is an opportunity here too. The possibility of making better government and societal systems that serve all the people. Again, I encourage you to seek out more information about this aspect and how other astrologers interpret it.

At the personal level, you may feel overwhelmed at all the changes. Many astrological aspects in 2019 were encouraging us to let go of the old and embrace the new. Well, the new may be upon us. Even new, exciting things can stress us out. Ground yourself and make your own self-care a priority!

Queen of Staves

A very interesting card came from the deck that gives us more insight into the Saturn/Pluto conjunction. The Queen of Staves is the fire element queen. She is creative, intuitive, and confident. She has the strength of lions within her and will fight like the lion if needed. She is tapped into the divine (see her familiar at her feet). So in the days ahead you need to allow Spirit to flow through you as she does. Listen to your intuition and those creative ideas that come to you. Detach from the global drama, but focus on the creativity you can bring to your local community.


So, this is a big week astrologically and they energies will continue through next week and beyond. I hope this was helpful, though it was brief. Any feedback is welcome on these highlights as well as the inclusion of cards to give some intuitive insight.

Mercury Aspects: Astrology Highlights, Week of December 30, 2019-January 5, 2020

Hello Folks! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season. The calendar year of 2019 is on the way out and 2020 is entering. I am optimistic and looking forward to the coming year. I hope you are as well.

Due to the holiday, I'm only going to get to a few of the aspects in this coming week. One is that Mercury seems to take center stage. Mercury is the planet of intelligence, mental agility and communication. The planet rules over perception, memory, reason, speaking and writing. In ancient mythology, Mercury was the messenger of the gods.

Mercury trines Uranus on Monday, Dec 30. The trine aspect is positive and promotes a harmony between both planets' energies. Mercury is in Capricorn, and Uranus is in Taurus, both earth signs so the planet's energies will be focused on the tangible. Uranus is the planet of spiritual awakening, massive transformation, and often likes to change this up quickly and in unexpected ways. Look for information or news that comes in unexpectedly about finances, business, or politics.  Learn to expect the unexpected with Uranus in the mix. Surprises can be both good and bad, so let's hope for the best.

On Thursday, January 2, 2020 Mercury conjuncts Jupiter, in which they each intensify the other's energy. As I've written before, Jupiter is a benefic planet that wants to expand everything it can influence. It expands things in both positive and negative ways. Both planets are transiting in the sign of Capricorn (with the Sun, Saturn, and Pluto). Capricorn rules our life path -- what we do for our career, destiny, how we make our money and hold our power. This is a good time to apply for that dream job, start writing that book, or start vlogging on Youtube. The feeling and energy is optimistic, generous, and about sharing your knowledge.

On Friday, January 3, 2020, the planet Mars moves out of the zodiac sign Scorpio and into Sagittarius where it is supremely more comfortable. Sagittarius is a fire sign, passionate and spiritual, but it is also a mutable sign, which means it changes direction all the time. Mars likes to move forward in a laser like fashion. While it will be much more comfortable, its energy may be scattered. So your forward movement in that area of your chart may be in short bursts and stops.

New Moon in Capricorn, Astrology Forecast, Week of December 23-29, 2019

Good Morning Folks,
The energy of the Winter Solstice continues to hover over us and as we go into this week, the energy of darkness, reflection continue as we greet a new moon in Capricorn on Christmas Day. So let's jump into the significant astrological aspects of the week.

On Tuesday, December 24, the Sun (in Capricorn) trines Uranus (in Taurus). Both bodies are in earth signs. So their harmonious connection will influence earthly pursuits. Energy will be good around career goals, health goals, and money. Uranus also brings the energy of surprise or unpredictability. So there could be a pleasant surprise that comes to light. Maybe Santa will bring some thing surprising.

There is another energy taking place on Christmas Eve -- the dark of no moon which precedes the New Moon in Capricorn happening on December 25 (Christmas Day).  The darkness that precedes the new moon gives us an opportunity to dive into our souls to face that which needs to be healed or changed.

More positive energy and changes comes with the new moon because it is accompanied by a partial solar eclipse AND those aspects are conjunct with Jupiter. So let me break this down.

New Moon in Capricorn -- new beginnings in the sign of your chart that practical, strategist, but also ambitious and motivated to succeed. Capricorn is about working hard and climbing great heights to get the reward. This New Moon will be influenced by the partial solar eclipse. Eclipses mean swifter more long lasting changes, but it is only partial, so it may mean that the new projects/business/relationships you have already begun just need an adjustment. It will be in a practical area of your chart, so it is something tangible (something you can see, hear, touch and taste).

The conjunction with Jupiter (also in Capricorn) adds the energetic influence of expansion. The conjunction increases and intensifies the already expansive energy of Jupiter. He wants to make things in your life even bigger and brighter.

I feel like Christmas Day will be extra shiny and new. Go forward with your new ideas, projects, and purpose with joy.

On Friday, December 27, the Sun conjuncts Jupiter (both in Capricorn). The expansive and joyful energy continues and if you have along term goals you wish to achieve, start with now. Jupiter will support your ambition, give you optimism for the future and the gradual achievement of goals.

Then on Saturday, December 28, Mercury joins the party in Capricorn. Mercury joins the Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto. Mercury the planet of communication, intelligence, speaking, writing, and memory. Mercury is really rational and detailed in Capricorn, but never loses sight of the big picture. So when you think about the big goals you might have in mind, Mercury can help you with the details. Take advantage of listing those details while Mercury is there to support you.

Winter Solstice & Freedom! Astrology Forecast for December 16-22, 2019

Hello Folks! This week the Sun changes signs, we move into a new season, and we have some
aspects at the end of the week that trigger our need for independence and freedom.

Starting late on Wednesday into early Thursday, Dec. 18-19, Mercury (in Sagittarius) will square up to Neptune (in Pisces). The square aspect is a challenge. Mercury is an air elemental planet in the house of a fire sign challenging a watery planet in a water sign. Expect active dreams and be careful of confusing communications. You might misunderstand something or pass along confusing messages. It will be important to ground in order to quiet the mind.

On Thursday, Dec. 19, Mars (in Scorpio) is in a sextile aspect to Saturn (in Capricorn). This energy adds motivation to change. Mars is the action planet and Saturn is authority. There is action to mature one's outlook and behavior. This is also an opportunity that you have to seek out but the energy is there to support you when you do!

In addition, Venus moves into Aquarius on Thursday. Venus represents the divine feminine and Aquarius is the sign of service and humanitarian efforts for the collective. The divine feminine may be moving into positions of power, and strength. They may also be working together in groups, to change governments, policies, and laws.

The interesting thing is that while the women rise with Venus moving into Aquarius, the Sun moves into Capricorn on Saturday, Dec. 21. Capricorn is the sign of the patriarchy and is about authority, goals, and ambitions. Capricorns work hard and are disciplined. They take on responsibility. Capricorns are ruled by the planet Saturn who is the taskmaster of the Universe. This is a good time for a focus on your work, job, and career. The Sun will be in Capricorn for the next month. Happy Birthday Capricorns!

The movement of the Sun also marks the Winter Solstice! The darkness of the longest night of the year, December 21, is symbolic of our need to search our souls. How have you grown this year? What still needs to be healed? It is a good time to review and do some end of the year detox/healing before the arrival of 2020.

On Sunday, December 22, Venus (in Aquarius) goes into an square (challenging) aspect to Uranus (in Taurus). Interesting factoid, Venus rules Taurus and Uranus rules Aquarius. This challenging aspect may highlight unexpected redirection in circumstances. It also may trigger rebelliousness. The divine feminine rising free from restrictive situations or environments. Down to the personal level it may be about rebelling against authority, rules or breaking old patterns and programming. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Time to Move Forward -- Astrology Forecast for November 25-December 1, 2019

Greetings Friends!

The theme this week is all about forward movement for yourself, your ideas, your plans and your path. We have a new moon, a planet moves into a new sign, and another planet goes from retrograde to direct motion. The positive forward moving energies are there but we have to make the effort to take advantage of them.

On November 25, Venus leaves Sagittarius and moves into the sign of Capricorn. Venus is usually happy and carefree, spreading her love everywhere, but when she goes into the house of Capricorn, she will be influenced by its serious tone. Venus will be more reserved and grounded. The influence this will have on us is that we may get more serious about a romance, relationship, or money. The grounded effect may also help us have our social graces in place just in time for the holidays. We may be more compassionate, giving, and considerate of family members and others.

On Tuesday, Nov. 26, the New Moon in Sagittarius will allow us to have a fresh start with any projects that expand our horizons of experience, knowledge and information. Sagittarius is an optimistic sign that rules law, philosophy, travel, education, language, and anything that expands our horizons of understanding and knowledge. Maybe there will be an opportunity for you to teach or learn a new subject, information may also come in that you didn't have access to before and that changes the course of your project.

For Wednesday, Nov. 27, the planet Neptune, which has been in retrograde in the sign of Pisces, goes direct. While Neptune has been in retrograde, it has been an optimum time to dream big about your desires or envision your future. Once Neptune goes direct, that's the time to put those dreams into a plan and make them happen in reality.

You and your dreams will get further support on Thursday, Nov. 28 when Mercury trines Neptune and Venus trines Uranus. Those energies will help you organize and communicate your plans. The resources may show up suddenly that will allow you to fund or support making your dreams a reality.

The weekend of November 30/December 1 brings more energy that will help you go forward with Mercury in sextile to Saturn. This aspect has the influence of communication and organization of long-range plans for the future. Long-range investments. So if your dream includes a long-term goal or a major lifestyle change then this energy should help.

Cosmic Bodies on the Move, Weekly Astrology Forecast, Nov 18-24, 2019

Hello Folks!

I hope you enjoyed last week's energy and opportunities. This week will be intense overall as the Sun and Mars move signs, Mercury goes direct, and Mars opposes Uranus later in the week. We will also end the week with another planet on the verge of shifting into another sign. The transitions that the cosmic bodies make in the last degree of one house on the zodiac wheel into the first degree of the next house are intense energy shifts. Buckle your seat belt.

We start out on Tuesday, Nov. 19, with Mars moving from Libra into Scorpio. Mars is the the ruler of Aries, but it was once the ruler of Scorpio before the planet Pluto was discovered. Mars was tempered by Libra's energy, so now in Scorpio it can expand its fiery forward movement where it feel more "at home." The type of energy you will encounter is Mars helping us move forward with emotional resolutions to what we uncovered or dug up while the Sun, Moon, and other planets transited Scorpio. Mars will be there to help us "work it" in a more quiet way, but still effective in moving us through the deep stuff we uncovered.

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the good news is that Mercury goes into direct motion at 11 degrees of Scorpio. I would give it several days before you sign contracts or buy electronics, but this is the start of Mercury moving forward. Mercury will still be transiting Scorpio for a while, so just be aware of how you communicate emotions or emotional topics.

The Sun moves from Scorpio to Sagittarius on Friday, Nov. 22. Sagittarius is optimistic, freedom-loving, ambitious, open to new ideas and exploration. The ruling planet is Jupiter and the planet of good fortune, expansion and abundance. Jupiter has been its home sign since last November and will move into Capricorn on December 2. A great boost of positive energy at the end of the week.

On Sunday, Nov. 24, several aspects shape up for the day. The first is that Venus in Sagittarius conjuncts Jupiter also in Sagittarius. Both Venus and Jupiter are benefic planets.There is huge potential for tangible blessings, possibly in a relationship or with money. 

The second aspect is not so positive when Mars (in Scorpio) opposes Uranus (in Taurus). Mars is energetic, wants to move forward, while Uranus is like lightning, throwing the unexpected flash of energy into the mix. There might be some irritability, impatience and intolerance. I would watch out for anything to do with money. Venus rules money and Taurus, the house Uranus is transiting, is all about earthly material and resources. Does an unexpected expense come out of the blue?

Lastly, on Sunday, Venus is in the last degree of Sagittarius and will be moving into Capricorn on Monday. This means her energy in that last degree is especially potent. It might make the other aspects happening on that day very interesting.

Mercury & Venus influences this week -- Astrology for the Week, Oct. 28-Nov. 3, 2019

Hello Friends,

I am writing this on Sunday, Oct. 27, in the energy of the new moon in Scorpio. The moon and the Sun are in Scorpio and a further aspect today is their opposition to Uranus in Taurus. Big concepts like death, transformation, rebirth and empowerment are all wrapped up in these aspects.

The moon is about the subconscious, the sun sheds light and brings things out into the open, Scorpio is a water sign, asking us to go deep into our feelings and bring up anything that needs to be healed that is in our subconscious. Uranus is also about change and empowerment, but it on the level of  seismic shifts. Taurus grounded in it earth sign power is asking us to look at what we do on a daily basis. So all of these aspects are mixed like a recipe and could mean that you have the opportunity to be aware of behavior patterns that are on the subconscious level. Once aware you have the opportunity to change them perhaps freeing yourself from nasty habits.

There is definitely opportunity for deep thinking and profound change. This energy will last at least 2 weeks.

Mercury is in its shadow period as it slows down to move retrograde starting later this week. So don't be surprised if your thoughts are slow, forgetful or muddled this week. Also I'm personally seeing the effects of retrograde begin early with people and things coming back from the past in my life.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, Mercury and Venus are conjunct, that means they are within 10 degrees of each other. The result is that the two planets give each other a boost of energy. This is good for sales, beauty, marketing, and making a purchase.

For Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31, Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Scorpio. Mercury retrogrades give us the opportunity to review or reflect on past decisions. Sometimes we have to redo a project all over again. Things or people from our past tend to return. Something that has been lost may be found. We only focus on the negative aspects of retrogrades like when our technology goes haywire, but there are positive aspects of a retrograde. If you dig deep and bring emotions to the surface, acknowledge them, think about them and heal. What adjustments do you need to make? Retrograde ends Nov 21, but Mercury will be in Scorpio still when retrograde ends. He will complete his transit of Scorpio on Dec. 8, 2019.

On November 1 Venus moves into Sagittarius. She joins Jupiter in Sagittarius where they will expand each other's energy. That may be good fortune for us even during a Mercury retrograde. These two planet promote optimism and taking calculated risks. Have an open mind and learn something new.

Sun in a new sign and a new moon -- the Astrology of the week of Oct. 21, 2019

Hello Friends,

The Sun moves into Scorpio and a new Moon on the weekend also in Scorpio are the highlights of the week.

We start the week with a trine (positive aspect) between Venus (in Scorpio) and Neptune (in Pisces) on Monday, October 21, 2019. As I've written before Venus rules money and relationships and Neptune rules imagination, mystery, illusion and dreams. Both planets are in Water signs, so prepared for blissful emotions, a boost to creativity and maybe a blessing in money or relationships. A great way to start the week.

By Wednesday, the Sun moves from the sign of Libra into the sign of Scorpio, where it will be for the next four weeks. The Sun joins Mercury and Venus who are already in the sign.

Scorpio is a water sign and ruled by Pluto (god of the underworld). Water signs usually signify emotions, but for the Scorpio, the emotions are down in the depths. But when those emotions surface, there is a lot of passion and intensity. On top of that is its ruling planet, Pluto, that brings seismic transformations into our lives. Pluto is about the ending of one phase and beginning of another.

So for the next four weeks, you have the opportunity while the Sun, Venus, and Mercury in Scorpio to do some in depth examination of your relationships and communications. Dig deep to bring to the surface anything that needs to be healed. You might see some relationships end, but others transform.

By the end of the week, on Sunday, Oct. 27, three aspects are occurring.
1.  Mars (in Libra) squares/challenges Saturn (in Capricorn)
2. New Moon in Scorpio at 4 degress.
3. late in the day, the Sun (in Scorpio) opposes Uranus (in Taurus)

Get some extra rest this day because of the challenging aspect of Mars v. Saturn. The Mars energy of moving forward is being held back by restrictive Saturn. You may feel physically tired. The new moon signs our new beginning on an emotional level if we take advantage of the energy. Moon joining the Sun, Venus, and Mercury intensives the emotional depths. The last aspect of the Sun opposing Uranus starts later in the day and goes into Monday. This one may bring something unexpected that happens or a sudden shift of energy.

The vision I got from Spirit at the end of this examination of the week is that we are all starting out at the shallow end of the pool at the beginning of the week and by the end, we are at the deep end. Don't fight it, go with the flow of the water. Just be prepared to dive below the surface.

Relationships & Money, Themes of the Week in Astrology, October 7-13

Dear Friends

The planetary aspects over the next week will center around a couple of different areas for everyone -- personal resources and personal relationships. Love & Money! The other thing to know about this is that some of the other planets that hung out with the Sun in Libra are beginning to move into Scorpio. Libra is about balance and diplomacy, but Scorpio wants you to go down into the deep depths of your being (yeah the dark places inside) and really work on your issues by bringing them up and out into the light.

So we start off the week  (Sunday/Monday) Oct 6-7, with Mercury (at 5 degrees Scorpio) opposing Uranus (retrograde at 5 degrees Taurus). This is about unexpected or out of the blue communication. It could be about a fast moving situation or multiple messages coming one right after the other. Because Uranus is in Taurus, that communication may be about money, resources, or the financial system. Hmmmm

Also on Monday, the Sun (which is still in Libra) is in a square/challenging aspect to Saturn (in Capricorn). This may lead to feeling like obstacles or challenges are being imposed that need to be overcome. This aspect lasts until Oct. 14.

On Tuesday, Oct. 8, Venus moves from Libra into Scorpio. Venus rules both personal resources and relationships and as she enter Scorpio, we are going to be asked to go below the superficial. We may need to dig very deep when it comes to issues within our relationships or resources. Scorpio wants you to get at the root of the matter. Why are you still working in the same patterns?  For example, if you are struggling financially, what is the deeper issue going on?

On Saturday, Oct. 12, Venus opposes Uranus. Something in your love life/relationships or finances may suddenly change. Uranus rules sudden and fast change (like a flash of lightning!) and as mentioned above Venus rules relationships and finances. It is important to stay focused on your relationships and resources today.

The week closes on Sunday, Oct. 13 with a full moon in Aries. Full moons are about completion or endings and Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac (where it begins). Aries also symbolizes new beginnings. This moon will also be in a square/challenging aspect to Pluto and a trine aspect to Jupiter.

The Moon - Pluto aspect may produce extreme emotional reactions to changes. Buried feelings of an unpleasant nature may surface. Jealousy, racism, fears, phobias, etc. may arise. Luckily the other aspect, the Moon in trine to Jupiter mitigates some of the energy of the the Moon/Pluto square. The energy of the trine is optimism and open-mindedness. So the buried feelings within a relationship can be shared instead to transform a relationship for the better. My advice is to navigate these energies with care. The full moon can be powerful at uncovering what needs to be healed in a relationship, but the square can potentially ruin the process if emotional reactions push others into a defensive posture. Try to be open minded and listen with compassion.

New Moon in Leo energy & more (Astrology for week of July 29-Aug 4, 2019)

Hello Friends

I hope you had a great time last week and found some time to relax and play. I get to share the good news for this week -- we have a new Moon and Mercury goes direct. This is a wonderful change to the energy for this week.

On Monday, July 29, the Sun (in Leo) squares Uranus (in Taurus). Both cosmic bodies are transiting in fixed zodiac signs of Leo and Taurus. The fixed signs resist change. Leo is a fire sign and rules the 5th house of creativity, children, romance, and Taurus is an earth sign, ruling our financial systems, agricultural systems, and fashion. The square aspect results in both "planets" challenge each other and make us uncomfortable enough that we take action to CHANGE the situation.

Uranus is all about freedom and sudden and unexpected change. The Sun is all about the light we shine from within ourselves, our personalities and identity. Expect the unexpected and you may have to use your creativity to make an innovative change.

Wednesday, July 31 is a day packed with energy. First, the new Moon arrives in Leo at 8 degrees. The moon joins the Sun, Mars and Venus in the sign of Leo. A new moon signals a time to plant seeds of intentions for new beginnings. A Leo new moon is a HAPPY new moon. Tap into your creativity when you set those intentions. There may be opportunities to let your inner child out to play.

The second fabulous thing happening on July 31 is that Mercury slows down its retrograde and stations direct. Whew! Mercury is now in Cancer. Give him a few days before you start signing contracts again or purchasing technology. Don't be surprised if those intentions that you set with the New Moon are slow to unfold. Mercury's energy shifting from retrograde to direct is the influence. They will soon go forward with speed.

Friday, August 2 find Venus in a square (or challenging aspect) to Uranus. This energy might be more about trying to break free from a negative pattern in a relationship, or just break free of a stagnant relationship. Another option is that there may be a sudden change regarding finances which can be their a windfall or a downfall. With Uranus, you never know the direction.

I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to the end of this Mercury retrograde.

Challenging Energies and the Astrology for the week of July 8, 2019

Before we discuss the astrology of the coming week, let's check in how you feel after the new moon solar eclipse? Energized? Tired? Excited? Let me know in the comments. The energies of the eclipse last up to 6 months.

As we head into this week, Mercury just went retrograde at 4 degrees of Leo on July 7. I am already feeling its influence as I write this post. Mercury governs communication and the means of communication (technology).  When it goes retrograde, or moves backwards, communication slows down. Technology like phones, laptops, and other electronic devices can go haywire. It is not a good time to sign contracts either because details in contracts may be inaccurate. Read the fine print carefully if you have to sign a lease or contract. Mercury's retrograde lasts until July 31.

In addition to the retrograde, we have several other aspects this week that will produce challenging energies for us. Some are in the areas of communication, but also internal emotional aspects. Being informed and prepared for these energies may help you navigate or avoid the emotional triggers.

Monday, July 8, Mercury conjuncts (connects) with Mars and they each intensify the other's energy. Both planets are in Leo. Mars the fire planet in a fire sign. Mars likes action and moving things forward but he will be a bit frustrated with Mercury in retrograde. Mercury's element is air and governs thoughts, ideas, and expression of those thoughts. The positive aspect of this connection is that the mind may be active with new ideas or go into a creative or artistic phase.

On Tuesday, July 9, the Sun (in Cancer) opposes Saturn (in Capricorn). Saturn is the teacher or authority figure that wants to restrict our movement forward until we have thoroughly learned our lesson. The Sun (in Cancer) is warm vitality in the home and family sign of the Zodiac but this clash with Saturn is not comfortable. If you are drawn into an argument with another person, especially a person of authority, or a difficult situation arises at home or work, then your challenge is to see the argument from the other person's perspective. This person or situation may be mirroring an aspect of you that needs to be healed. Pay attention and don't get drawn into the drama.  This aspect and energy will last until July 15.

Thankfully at mid-week, we have a positive aspect on July 10, when the Sun trines Neptune. Look for opportunities to practice your intuitive skills, use your imagination, or work on your artistic potential, go for it!

Thursday, July 11 Mars (Leo) and Uranus (Taurus) are in a Square. When planets fall into a square aspect in the zodiac, it means that they are challenging each other and producing an obstacle in an area of your zodiac chart that needs to be addressed. Square's make this uncomfortable for us so that we take an action to change the situation. Mars the planet of bold action, assertiveness, power, sex, and Uranus is the planet that rules unexpected change and the inner power of our purpose in life. Both are fire planets and both are power planets. 

So when these two planets square off, there will be intense energies triggering feelings of freedom. Freedom will clash with obligation and may cause impatience,tension, and bring out  a combative nature in people. Something unexpected may happen under the influence of Uranus. Under this aspect it is good to stay grounded, breath and meditate. This aspect will have influence on a global level. Watch the news to see what happens.

On Sunday, July 14  Sun (in Cancer) now opposes Pluto (in Capricorn). Pluto rules transformation and this aspect signals a need to look at ourselves differently. How do others see me? Am I presenting myself in the best light? Am I letting my light shine? This opposition may make us review our own character, but it can also shine a light on selfishness and antisocial behavior.

This is a heavy week. I will repeat practice good self care by staying grounded, breath, and meditate. Be careful with your communication this week. Don't send the angry text message. Try to surround yourself with healing energy and send that to others.
